Sandra is a native of Colombia (South America) and has lived in Grand Island, Nebraska since 2001. Sandra received her Bachelor Degree in Business Administration with a major in Accounting at La Salle University (Colombia) and a Masters in Family Financial Planning at University Nebraska-Lincoln. Her bi-cultural background and focus on community collaboration has led her to a number of volunteer opportunities and community leadership roles. She have been working for more than ten years with the UNL Extension Office. Now she is an Extension Educator teaching and coordinating Community Vitality Programs (CVI) regionally in developing and/or growing rural Nebraska businesses, engaging youth and young adults in rural communities, and creating 21st century communities that are welcoming to all. Sandra focuses on Latino small business development and entrepreneurship, creating training programs, and providing one on one business counseling. Sandra works to create an inclusive network of business, governmental organizations, and community partners to help businesses thrive.
